To commemorate early BMW’s racing history and completing the restoration of our 1967 BMW 2000TI, B-Sedan is launching our first Neue Klasse design. BMW’s 1800TI and 1800 TISA Neue Klasse saloons were pivotal models in BMW’s renaissance during the 1960s, marking the brand’s commitment to performance and motorsport. The last generation of the chassis was the 2000TI, a special model equipped with a pair of twin Solex carburetors and a high compression 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.  It delivered 120hp, spirited performance, and robust reliability making it a natural contender in competitive touring car and endurance racing events across Europe.

The BMW 2000TI achieved notable racing success at legendary endurance events, most famously at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. In the 1966 Spa 24 Hours, the 2000TI piloted by Hubert Hahne and Jacky Ickx, proved its mettle by securing a class victory. Beyond Spa, the 2000TI also performed admirably in other European endurance races, including the Nürburgring 6 Hours, securing Hahne the European Touring Car Championship for that year. Additionally, during a support race at the 1966 German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, Hahne was the first driver in a saloon car to ever break the 10-minute lap time barrier during a race. These achievements not only underscored the car’s competitive edge but also cemented BMW’s emerging status as a powerhouse in motorsport. The 2000TI NK’s racing legacy (along with the 1800TI & TISA) paved the way for the brand’s future triumphs in touring cars and endurance racing.
