Whether it was the European Touring Car Championship of the 1960’s or the first year for B-Sedan racing and/or Trans-Am Under 2.0L racing in the United States in 1966, the podium always consisted of these homologated race cars: Ford Lotus Cortina, Alfa Romeo Autodelta GTA or the BMW 1800TISA. Each race car represented the best the manufacturers had to offer. The heated battles of the 1960’s were fought on both sides of the Atlantic, from the club circuits in Britain to the long, punishing endurance races at Spa-Francorchamps, Nürburgring, Silverstone or in America. We owe a debt of gratitude to these machines and drivers (The Originals) as they paved the way for much of the endurance racing that we enjoy today.
